January 26, 2004 OSWCU welcomes our members to the new year. We hope this year brings all our members good fortune and continued employment. :) We are presently in "hibernation mode", though work is being done in the background. If you would like to participate in this work behind the scenes, please contact one of the officers. A new job posting was put up today. You can check it out on the Employment Page. November 21, 2003 Michael Obleski, a visualization juggernaut, has sent us 2 new updated images to the Cogen facility previously posted and an additional 3 new images. You can view these image, along with his other work, on the Gallery page. November 11, 2003 Due to many reasons (too numerous to mention), the remaining two meetings for this year have been canceled. Our appologies for not keeping you all informed of this on a more timely basis. The Board will be meeting November 18th to discuss events for 2004. Please contact any of the Board members if you have any ideas for next year or if you have any issues that need to be addressed. If you are interested in attending this meeting, please contact one of us. OSWCU member, Michael Obleski has submitted some new 3D images for your perusal. September 11, 2003 Due to scheduling problems, our September 17th meeting is being moved back to a date in October. Our appologies for the late notification.
August 13, 2003 Due to several circumstances, the meeting scheduled for August 20th has been canceled. We are sorry if you were looking forward to this meeting and we will look into scheduling this topic as a possibility for a future meeting. Our next meeting is still scheduled for Wednesday, September 17th.

Our next meeting, originally scheduled for March 19th, has been pushed back to Monday, April 14th. This will be our first of many (hopefully) meetings outside the Portland, OR area. The Microstation V8 Roadshow arrives in Portland on Tuesday, February 25th and OSWCU officers will be there. Hope to see some of you there. February 4, 2003

December 31, 2002 OWSCU wishes everyone a Happy New Year! To welcome in the new year we have added a new section to the web site: a Member's Gallery. The Member's Gallery will be a place where OSWCU members can share, with other members and the CAD world in general, work they have completed over past several years. If you are particularly proud of any work you have done, whether a drawing, a rendering or whatever, send it our way with a short description and we will post it for others to see. To start out this new addition, Doug Persson, OSWCU's Chairperson has submitted a few files for your perusal. Please take note: January's meeting has been moved back to Wednesday, Jan. 22. September 29, 2002 Our final meeting for 2002 is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16th. Go to the Meeting Information page to find location, time and agenda. We have a new officer! Welcome Lesli Merhaut of HDR, Inc. Lesli is going to take over the Secretary responsibilities from Tina Chee and Tina will take on the duties of the Treasurer. The OSWCU board met on Monday, September 23rd to discuss schedules, upcoming programs, the collection of dues, revisions to the By-laws and various other business matters. We will share some of our ideas and thoughts for your review as soon as the minutes are compiled. We feel 2003 is going to be an exciting year.
September 19, 2002 Two more pipe cell libraries have been added to the Download area. They are AWWA 150 flanged fittings and AWWA Victaulic fittings.
July 18, 2002 Our third meeting of the year convened last night. Those who could not attend missed a very interesting and informative presentation of 3D Laser Scanning technology. To read all about what happened, go to the Meeting Information page.
July 10, 2002 We hope to see many of you at the July 17th meeting! June 27, 2002 The July 17th meeting is soon approaching and the October 16th meeting has been booked. October's topic is on the Meeting Information page. Our CADD Links page is in need of an overhaul and we will be giving it some maintenance within the next few weeks. If you have a favorite link you would like to share with the membership please email it our way! In conjunction with our October meeting, we will be adding a Job Search page. This page will contain links to other web pages pertinent to technically oriented job searching, as well as postings for Want Ads. If anyone has thoughts they would like to share on this particular endeavor please send them our way.

February, 2002 OSWCU was shut down during the Summer of 2001 and has undergone a reorganization. Doug Persson has taken over the Chairperson role while John Volk has remained as Vice-Chairperson. We are still in need of additional officers (Secretary, Treasurer and Webmaster) or just people to help! Please contact one of us if you are able to lend a hand. If you are here it means you already know about our new domain name: OSWCU.TMC.ORG. We are now being hosted at the TMC.ORG web site. Please pass our URL on to anyone you may think would be interested. We plan on making this web site the central communication point for this organization, so check here first for the latest news or information. As we get more things up and running, we will add more to the site. |
